应电信学院吴宣利副教授的邀请,在国际合作处的资助下,加拿大麦吉尔工程学院副院长Fabrice Labeau教授将于5月19日—5月21日来我校访问讲学,并宣传在哈尔滨组建IEEE Vehicular Technology Society分会的相关事宜。Fabrice Labeau教授是IEEE Vehicular Technology Society (VTS)的上一任主席(President),目前正担任IEEE VTS的副主席及IEEE Sensors Council的主席,近年来在IEEE高水平期刊和国际会议上发表文章近百篇,并担任了多个国际会议的大会主席或技术委员会主席。
讲座题目1:如何在IEEE高水平期刊和国际会议上发表文章“information for authors for IEEE publications (how to publish and author etiquette)”。

This talk will constitute a practical introduction to publishing within IEEE and its Vehicular Technology Society (VTS). The discussion will start with a short description of IEEE and VTS, as well as their publishing activities. The second portion of the talk will give practical tips on how to structure papers for IEEE publications and how to select publications and conferences. Finally, the session will conclude with an introduction to commonly accepted principles of author etiquette and their applications in IEEE publishing.

讲座题目3:Smart Grid within power substations: specific wireless communications challenges。

In this talk, we will report the work carried out over the last few years in the framework of an active collaboration with Hydro-Quebec, the power utility in the province of Quebec, Canada, for the deployment of wireless technologies within power substations. We will position the work within the smart grid framework, and motivate its interest in this regard. We will then go over some of the sources of electromagnetic noise that are present within power substations and which make it a hostile environment for classical wireless communications. Specific measurement campaigns have allowed us to characterize the EM noise in substations, and in particular its impulsive nature; we will describe some of the models developed as well as an example of receiver adapted to this type of noise. Finally, we will touch upon a few additional potential avenues to enable wireless communications within substations.
Fabrice Labeau教授简介:
Fabrice Labeau is an Associate Professor in the department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, at McGill University, where he also holds the NSERC/Hydro-Quebec Industrial Research Chair in Interactive Information Infrastructure for the power grid.
He is or was technical co-chair of the 2006 and 2012 Fall IEEE VTC conferences, the 2015 IEEE International Conference on Image Processing (ICIP) and the 2015 IEEE International Conference on Ubiquitous Wireless Broadband (ICUWB). He was the general co-chair of the 2013 International Workshop on High Mobility Wireless Communications (HMWC), and will be the general co-chair of the Fall 2016 IEEE VTC and the 2017 URSI General Assembly and Scientific Symposium.
His research interests include signal processing and its applications in health, power grids, communications and compression. He has published over 150 papers in refereed journals and conferences in these areas.
He is Vice President (Membership) and Junior Past President of the IEEE Vehicular Technology Society, President-Elect of the IEEE Sensors Council, the vice chair of the Montreal IEEE Signal Processing Society chapter and chair of the IEEE Montreal Section.
He has held several administrative appointments at McGill University, including Associate Chair, Chair (interim), Associate Dean and Acting Dean. He is currently the Associate Dean (Faculty Affairs) for the Faculty of Engineering at McGill.
