An annual event that rotates between Australia and Indonesia, the Asia Pacific Oil & Gas Conference and Exhibition (APOGCE) is one of the premier upstream technical events in the Asia Pacific region, covering a broad range of technical disciplines involved in exploration and production activities.
In 2015, APOGCE will be held for the first time in Bali, Indonesia, at the Bali Nusa Dua Convention Center from 20-22 October. The event is proudly co-organised by the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) and the Society of Indonesian Petroleum Engineers (IATMI) will provide participants with the opportunity to gain new insights into the region’s oil and gas industry and learn about current trends, emerging technologies and state-of-the-art innovation from industry experts.
In consideration of the challenges facing the industry in meeting the growing energy needs of the Asia Pacific region, the theme of the conference is Sustain and Gain: Bending the Curve.
Driven by economic and industrial development and higher living standards, energy demand in the Asia Pacific region is expected to almost double by 2035, accounting for more than half of the planet’s consumption. This represents a huge challenge for the industry, as a significant proportion of this energy is expected to come from increasing oil and gas supplies. As many of the oil and gas fields in the region are mature, sustaining their production is critical to meeting our energy needs. In addition, significant supply needs to be added from new discoveries and by developing unconventional oil and gas resources in the region. Moving supply to market in this geographically diverse region is also a challenge to overcome.
The conference will address these challenges by bringing together industry professionals and technical experts who will share breakthroughs and technical developments and provide a platform for energy experts and leaders to discuss pertinent issues and potential solutions.
In conjunction with the comprehensive technical programme and exhibition, the conference will also feature exciting activities and programmes organised to inspire the younger generation and broaden their knowledge of the energy industry such as the Young Professionals Workshop, the Regional Student Paper Contest, PetroBowl, Education Day and Teachers’ Day.
